My First Character Journal Entry for Nano 2010:

I wrote a new character journal entry today. It’s almost seven pages, and it sits at 3,111 words. It’s my first character journal entry for my 2010 Nanowrimo novel, The Bow of Ildirin.

This entry is from the viewpoint of the master villain, and it’s one of my best, so far (and I’ve written more than a few).

Here’s a very brief excerpt:

…I have yet to see this child, yet I fear her. I don’t know why I should feel such dread at the prospect of seeing one so fair, as she is a child of the woman I loved so long ago. A thought comes to mind, and it is an unsettling one. I hope I am wrong in my thinking. Could this latest daughter be the one traveling with the Son of Ildirin? Could she be the one who teaches him about life, love, and sacrifice? Could she be instrumental in helping him become the destroyer he is prophesied to become?
I am really loving this villain. He’s not so villainous, yet he is very villainous at the same time. He’s been forced to live the life of a vampire for a very long time, and he’s suffered because of it. He’s made decisions that were very unwise, but really has no way to change things.

What will become of him? Will he see the light before it’s too late? Will he kill the hero or be killed by him? What will happen when he encounters a young woman who looks exactly like the lover he lost so long ago?

So many questions, so little time. ;)

Have a good one!

A New Day To Help Other Writers & Work On My Screenplay!

I didn't finish outlining my screenplay's prologue, but I got a lot of it done. I'll finish it today, for sure, then I'll start on Act One. I also wrote a character journal entry for Abu Faruqui. YAY! I've missed writing character journal entries. I hadn't done it in two or three days. That's a million years in my time. :P

I watched a Nature show last night. It was about skunks. I never knew they eat honeybees. There were a lot of things I never knew about skunks, but I knew that most states won't allow people to own skunks as pets because of the danger of rabies. They're number two in rank for getting rabies, just after racoons. I still want one, though. :) You can't look at the face of one and say they're not cute. You just can't! You can admit they stink, but they are adorable. :D

And then I saw a show about teen girls being sold into prostitution, which is right up my alley, considering the screenplay I'm working on, as well as my interest in Project Devi. This is one thing I feel very strongly about. Girls and women have rights, and it's disgusting for these men to be forcing them into prostitution and pornography. They do it to boys and men, too, just not to the same degree. It's wrong, pure and simple.

This morning, I've been working on feedback. And I've been e-mailing back and forth with Milli about things involving Fear of Writing. It's been good, but now I'm ready to catch up online and then work on my own writing. :)

I have to call tonight to find out if I have to go in for jury duty tomorrow. I sure hope I don't. I have three students who need me!

Anyway, I'd better get started. Have a good one!

Chat! I Forgot the Chat!

Well, I was able to post three feedbacks last night. YAY! But I had two to work on today, and they were tough! I have at least one more new one to write tomorrow morning, too.

I worked on getting more elements for my screenplay, too. I've got the major elements of the prologue now. I'll be working on Act One today.

I wrote two new character journal entries to go along with the screenplay work. From here on out, they should coincide with the screenplay's storyline.

I went to Sweet Bay last night. I didn't do any writing there. I only caught up online, posted the feedbacks, then downloaded some videos. It wasn't a waste, since I really, really wanted the videos. ;) It was great seeing Maria again, too! :D

My next three DVDs will be shipping from Netflix today. One of them is an adventure film, Naksha (read a review of the movie here). It stars Sunny Deol and Vivek Oberoi.

It's sunny out again today! :D I wish I could go outside and work.

Speaking of work, I have a lot left to do today, so I'd better get to it. In fact, I just realized that the writers forum is having a chat. I got online late, but I may be able to catch the last 40 minutes or so if I hurry.

Have a great day! Catch y'all later...

Will I Finally Start Work On the Screenplay Today?

I've written feedback for two new assignments. They're posted and awaiting approval or changes needing to be made.

I'll be getting something to eat and then starting work on my own writing shortly. I never got to work on the new story yesterday, so I plan to do that today. I'll be making it into a screenplay and a novel.

I wrote two character journals yesterday for a grand total of only 1,550 words for the day. Still, it's better than nothing. Slow and steady, right? :)

I've worked out a system to manage my time. I'll see how it works. So far today, I've stuck with it.

Last night, I got caught up online while Jeff watched TV. I may do that from time to time...when I don't get everything done earlier in the day.

It's been quiet here. Eric and Chelsey have been in town since Saturday, so I've had the house to myself during the day. I just wish I could have made yesterday a 5K or 10K Day. ;)

Yesterday, I ordered Mission Istaanbul from Amazon.com Z Shops, as well as the Kismat Konnection movie DVD and soundtrack CD. I can't wait to get them! :D

It's really windy here. Our high right now is around 30°. As usual, my fingers are freezing! It's mostly cloudy, but the sun has been coming out from time to time. :)

Well, I'd better hurry up and eat so I can start on my writing.

Have a great day!

Busy, Busy Day Ahead

I've got some reading to do. It's training for my work, so I'll be doing that as soon as I get off here. I'll catch up on my friends page and everything else after I'm done.

I wrote one character journal yesterday, and that was it. 750 words is better than nothing, I suppose. And I worked on some character sheets last night. That was tough work, but they're mostly done. I have to look up a few things online later, so I can finish them.

I guess I'll be getting the next three Netflix DVDs tomorrow. The snow must have delayed them.

I am totally hooked on Hindi dance music. I can't get enough of it! And yesterday, I discovered three or four new (to me) American Indian musicians/ singers. I can't wait until I have enough time to find out more about them and hear more of their music! :D

I got some new bookmarks and flexible magnets in the mail yesterday. I bought them from Leanin' Tree Greeting Cards & Gifts. They have a nice selection. I especially love their American Indian and Western products.

Surprisingly, we still have snow on the ground. It's been cold. The sun was out yesterday, but the clouds are back in full force this morning. :( It's supposed to clear some...at least that's what my Weatherbug widget says. I'll believe it when I see it. *sigh*

I've got a ton of stuff to do today, so I'd better get off here now.

Have a great day!

Writing Again!

I'm getting a late start posting this entry because I had some feedback to write and revise. Now I can work on catching up a little bit, but I don't think I'll be able to catch up on everything. I guess we'll see...

Anyway, I wrote a character journal entry last night. I wrote it the old fashioned way- with pen and paper. I still have to transcribe it, so I don't know what my word count is yet.

I was going to write a stand alone scene, but decided to pass on it for now. At this point, it doesn't fit the characters I have it in mind for, so it'll have to wait a while.

I'm hoping to work on my new story some today, but if I'm going to do that, I need to hurry up on here.

I've also got a few photos I want to post, but they need to be edited first. Hopefully, I'll get to them this week. Better late than never, right? ;)

Have a great day!

My Writing, Winter Storm Warning, Other Boring Stuff

Yesterday was great! I wrote a 599 character journal entry that wrapped up a certain storyline in my I.W. character journals, then went on to start a new story (I'm letting the first story sit while I write this one, then I'll go back and read and edit it). I wrote 3,897 words in the new story, so my total word count for the day was 4,496. Not bad. :)

I still have to work on the creepy factor. I'm not used to writing creepy things. ;)

Our weather isn't too great. As I posted yesterday, we had a winter weather advisory. It's now been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning:

Jeff and I watched Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters: International, but we started falling asleep near the end of the second one. I can't wait to watch Vampire Diaries and Supernatural tonight...if we still have power. We might even watch Burn Notice. Thursday has become my TV night, it seems. Usually, we just watch DVDs, or Jeff watches whatever he wants. Thursday, however, is a good night for TV shows. :)

Well, I've got some feedback to write, so I'd better get to it, but first, I've got a lot of catching up to do online...stuff I would have done last night, but I let Eric and Chelsey use the device, so I never got back on.

Have a great day! :D

I Coulda Made It A 10K Day

My personal 5K Day yesterday was a success. I ended up writing 7,431 words in my new story, finishing the first draft! :D I'm going to set it aside for a week or two, then I'll go back and read it, make notes, and begin the first edit. It's 26K words altogether. I think that qualifies as a novelette...?

Today, I'll be working on some character journal entries and I may start a new story...maybe just write a few scenes I have in mind.

I was hoping to go to Sweet Bay last night, but my writing kept me too long and there was no way to get there on time...not even nearly on time. Maybe next week. Maybe I can come up with some more loglines in the meantime. :)

Jeff and I watched the series premier of Caprica. It was okay, but nothing I'd want to write home about. I know some people are really into the new Battlestar Galactica shows. I'm not one of them. I like the older, more fun series.

I am, however, looking forward to the new A-Team movie coming out in June. ;)

I still have to vacuum the studio today. I'll do that when Chelsey takes Eric to work, or if they go out earlier in the day.

Otherwise, my day is free to spend it on writing. :)

In other news, we have a winter storm watch in effect until Friday at noon:
A Winter Storm Watch Is In Effect...

Winter Storm Warning.

• 1 To 4 Inches Of Snow And Sleet Accumulation Are Possible Near
The Interstate 40 Corridor With Lesser Amounts Further South.
Ice Accumulations Around One Quarter Inch With Isolated Amounts
Near One Half Inch Are Also Possible Thursday Evening Through Friday
Morning.

Impacts...
• Roads...Bridges...And Overpasses May Become Slick And Hazardous
In The Watch Area...Making Travel Treacherous. Power Outages
Are Possible...Especially Near The Interstate 40 Corridor.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
• Consider Changing Travel Plans. Make Sure You Have An Adequate
Supply Of Food...Water And The Necessary Medication To Last
Through The Duration Of The Winter Storm.
As usual, I'll believe it when I see it and not a minute before. ;)

And on that note, I'd better wrap this up. I never checked my friends pages yesterday, so I've got to do that today.

Have a good one!

Winging It...Again

Yesterday was a good day. It was laundry day, but as usual, I kept forgetting about it because I was working on my writing. It's all done now though, so I'm good. :)

I opened my latest story to see about editing what I had so far. It was turning out to be more of an action/ adventure story than I wanted it to be, so I edited out several scenes and replaced them with scenes more akin to what I wanted. I'm loving it a lot more now, and I'm starting to form some ideas about where I want it to go. I should have brainstormed and outlined beforehand, but I was anxious to write down the scenes I've been thinking about, so I started it without the needed prep work. It's coming out pretty good, though. I do know where I want it to end up, and I've got the beginning. I just have to figure out how to get Jahan and Petra from the beginning to the end. Piece of cake. ;)

I've been getting better about getting off the computer earlier, too. For a while there, my schedule was thrown off because of Nanowrimo and my cold/ flu. It just threw everything off. Now I'm back to my old habits, for the most part. I actually fixed our omelets for tomorrow morning before I got on here today...something I haven't done in a while. :)

Anyway, I plan to work on my story today. I also want to work on some character journal entries, since I didn't work on any yesterday like I wanted to.

And I'm not sure about my word count for yesterday. I'm estimating that it was sitting at somewhere between 4-6K when I started. By the time I finished yesterday, it was up to 8,247 words. I added three pages to it too. Whereas it was sitting at a little under 10 pages before I started working on it, it was 13 pages when I finished. :)

Have a great day! :D

Wednesday Writing Sprints!

I only wrote two character journal entries yesterday, but they were pretty good, I think. My word count was 1,856.

I went to Sweet Bay last night, but all I managed to do was sign up for another MySpace account. This one will be different from my other two, which I don't even go to anymore. I don't know if I'll be able to keep up, but I'm going to try. ;)

I need to upload my stuff to Box.net. I haven't done that in a while.

Today is Wednesday Writing Sprints, and I'll be working on brainstorming, then character journal entries for my new characters. I need to get really serious about the story and come up with the major conflict, as well as the secondary conflicts. I'm hoping to get a good start on that today.

I have to call about jury duty tonight. I hope I don't have to go in tomorrow. I'd like to participate in 10K Day.

Have an awesome day! :D

DHOL!!! Buddy, Banging A Drum!!!

Jury duty's been postponed again...until Thursday. I have to call in tomorrow night to find out if it's still on.

Jeff and I watched another hilarious Bollywood movie last night. It's two-and-a-half hours long. It's called Dhol Kiska Bajega. Kunal Khemu (from 99) co-stars in it. It's about four lazy young men who try to make a beautiful young woman fall in love with them, but they get into a lot of trouble along the way. Parts of it are very slapstick, and it's hilarious! The subtitles disappeared in one brief part, but we could still pretty much follow along. We both enjoyed it very much, and Jeff kept singing the chorus to the best song! :P

Anyway, I'll be working on character journals again today. I may start outlining my story, too. I've got the main conflict. Now I need to come up with the three sub-conflicts, then the rest of the story.

I got a lot of writing done yesterday: five character journal entries totaling 3,496 words. :)

10K Day is this Thursday and next Saturday. I'm hoping I won't have to go in for jury duty on Thursday so I can participate. I guess I'll find out Wednesday night.

And on that note, I'd better go. I've got to get caught up on here, then on the writing forum and Blogspot.

Have an excellent day! :D

The Highly Anticipated Meeting

And now I've written a new character journal for Kangee (pronounced KAN ee), another one of my characters.

The breakdown for today:

Jahan's Listening To the Heart: 2,318
Jahan's The Building War: 758
Kangee's Finally, Some Answers!: 1,905
________________
Grand Total: 4,981

Not bad. Not bad at all. :)

And these two characters (Jahan and Kangee) have finally met, a meeting I've been eager to write about!

I also came up with a model for another secondary character, who will be important to Jahan's part of the story. :)

And I think I've come up with the one main conflict that will run throughout the trilogy. Scratch that. I know I've come up with the main conflict. Now I need to come up with major underlying conflicts for each of the three books, then I can start adding other smaller conflicts and scenes and stuff. This ought to be goooooooood! :D

And now I really have to go.

Have a great evening!

Lois

Jahan

Wow! Two character journal entries in a row by Jahan: 2,318 + 758 = 3,076. And I still have to write an entry for Kangee, which will tie in with the second entry by Jahan. :)

Jahan is very ambitious. When he was young, he learned to listen to what is in his heart, but he also learned that with great power comes great responsibility. He has been applying the second lesson a little too well, and the first lesson not enough. He's about to find out that he'll have to have a balance of the two if the world as he knows it is to be saved.

I am so loving this! ( I say that a lot, I know, but really...I am so loving this! :D )

I'm about to post these to Native Heroes, then I'll write that Kangee entry, then shower...

Back To Work

Yesterday was good, but I didn't get any writing done. I guess it's okay to take a day off once in a while. :)

The trip went well, but my stomach started bothering me. I think I should start packing my own food to take with me so I don't have that problem. :( My mom arrived safely and I talked to her last night after we got home from Walmart.

I have a welcome letter to write for my second student. I'll be doing that before I work on my own writing. Then I'll work on more character journal entries.

I don't have to go in on Monday for Jury Duty. It was postponed until Tuesday, so I have to call in Monday night to find out if it's still on.

Have a good day!

Road Trip!

Today, we're taking my mom to the airport. I'm taking my laptop with me, but I don't know how much I'll be online. I may try to connect from the airport, since we plan on being there an hour and a half before her flight.

I got a ton of writing done yesterday, and I'm pleased with it. 4,176 words! Four character journal entries (two long, two short) and a welcome letter for my first student (no word count on that). Not bad, considering I got a late start. :)

Anyway, I'd better go. I have six more posts to make elsewhere, and I need to fix my mom a lunch.

It's almost time for me to break out the road trip CD! ;)

Have a great day! :D

Hell's Oasis: A Kalaghata Character Journal Entry

This is a character journal entry I wrote using the prompt, "Oasis," which was posted over on the LiveJournal's The Writing Pen community.  I would have to rate it PG-13 for adult content and "disturbing images," as Kalaghata encounters a female demon.

Kalaghata began as an idea for a villain, but he has become something else.  I'm still exploring his character, trying to decide if he will be a true villain or just a "good guy" fighting demons from his past.  He's still in the early stages of development, so it may take a while to get a grasp on what kind of man he is.

-- All characters and text are copyright (c) 2010 by Lois Eighmy.

Hell's Oasis

I have only loved once in my six thousand years of existence.  I will never forget my beloved Narmada, with her silken black hair and her warm brown eyes, her beautiful smile and the sound of her laughter.  When she died, a part of me died with her.  I could no longer feel warmth or joy or amusement.  I had never been truly happy in my life until I met her; and when she was taken away, I felt as if my heart had been torn from my chest.

To mourn her death, I went out into the desert.  I thought being alone would allow me to heal.  To some degree, it did, but it took a lot of time.

When I first went out into what is now the Arabian Desert, my only thought was of getting away from civilization.  I wanted...needed...to be alone.  I had no one to help me through my grief, nor had I ever had anyone to help me through the tough times with which my life had thus far been cursed.  I didn't know how to mourn.  I didn't know how to grieve.  I was on my own, and I did what I felt I had to do.

I came across an oasis and thought to pass it by, but at the last moment, I decided to stay there for a while.  I should have continued on, as I would soon find out.

I settled down that first night, thinking that I would sleep and everything would be better by the following morning.  When I closed my eyes, I saw Narmada's face.  I heard her voice.  I even smelled the scent of her.  I sat up and decided it would be better if I moved on.

I walked for several more miles, then another oasis came into view.  I passed it by.   Again, after walking for several more miles, an oasis came into view.  This time, I stopped and sat down under a tree.  As I looked around me, I realized it was the same oasis I'd first encountered.

I went over to the spring and drank from it.  The water was sweet and refreshing, and I drank until my thirst was quenched.

I looked into the water and saw a sight that filled me with dread.  I saw my face, and as I watched, the flesh dissolved away until only my skull could be seen.  I jumped back, afraid to look into the water any longer.  I didn't know if I had actually seen it with my own eyes or if it had been an hallucination.  Whatever it was, it scared the hell out of me.

I got up and continued my journey deeper into the desert.  Again, I came across an oasis.  Again, it was the same oasis with the same spring and the same pool of water.

I sat down, but stayed away from the water.  I was exhausted, and I began to doze off.  I don't know how long I slept before I felt the searing pain in my arm.  I awoke with a start and looked down to find a cobra, its fangs buried deep in my forearm.  I tried to pry it off, but it wouldn't let go.  I looked around for a stick to beat it with, but I began to think of my misery.  I decided not to fight it.  I wished for more to come and put an end to my wretched existence.  I got my wish, but no matter how many came, I survived their venom.  I could not be killed by poison.

When dawn came, the cobras slithered away into the pool of water, and I never saw them again.  As the sun hurt my eyes, I decided I'd better stay put and get some sleep under the cover of the trees.  I slept for several hours and soon my body eradicated the poisons in my blood stream.

Twilight fell across the land, and I again headed out into the desert.  I encountered the same oasis several more times, each time strange things happened.

I was tired of the strangeness of my experiences in the desert.  All I wanted was to have peace and quiet to think and remember.  I wanted to remember Narmada as she was when she was alive...when we were in love.

The oasis wouldn't let me have my wish.  It showed up every few miles, like clockwork.  It seemed to be mocking me in my time of grief.  It brought me to the point of wanting to truly end my life.

I went without water for a long time, hoping the lack would kill me.  It didn't work.  After several days without water, I was thirsty, but still alive.

I tried to hang myself from a branch of the one large, strong tree that inhabited the oasis.  Again, I failed.  Stretching my neck did nothing to bring an end to my suffering.

I tried everything I could think of to put an end to my grief, but nothing worked.  I was still alive, a wretched man living in misery, determined not to let go of my memories of, nor my love for, my sweet Narmada.

Finally, I cried out for an reason why I wouldn't be allowed to die.

I got an answer, and it was the scariest thing I have ever experienced in my 6,000 years on this earth.  No sooner had I asked the question, when a demon rose up out of the pool of water.  She had cobras for hair (presumably the ones that had attacked me earlier in my journey).  Her skin was reddish brown in color and it seemed to have the consistency of mud.  Her eyes were shining like amber lights, but there seemed to be no life in them.  She had long fangs and longer claws at the ends of her thin fingers.  She wore nothing but the water dripping off of her from the pool of water.

She slowly rose up out of the water and approached me.  Fear gripped my heart, but I fought it with all the courage I had within me.  My heart pounded as she touched my face.  She leaned close and whispered in my ear, her voice sounding very much like the squawk of a crow.

She told me that I had a purpose in life.  If I would follow her, she would take away all my pain and misery.  She would give me everything I wanted.  All I had to do was follow her.

I asked her if she could bring  Narmada back.  She laughed and said that was too easy.  She could bring Narmada back, but only if I followed and obeyed her for the rest of my days.

I told her to prove it.

She snapped her fingers and Narmada appeared before me, just as I remembered her.  She was so beautiful.  My heart ached for her.  My body ached for her.  I almost gave in to the demon's demands when I held Narmada in my arms for that one brief moment in time.

Something told me that none of it was real, and if it was, it would be too high a price to pay.  I couldn't follow this demon and do her bidding...not even to bring Narmada back.

I did something I hadn't been able to do before.  I told Narmada goodbye.  I pulled her close and I whispered the words in her ear, “I love you, Narmada, but this is goodbye.”  Then I let her go.

The demon screamed, a sound I will never forget.  It rendered me nearly deaf for several hours afterward.  I stood up and faced her, but I refused to fight her.  I still wanted to die, and I hoped she would put an end to it.  Instead, she smirked and told me that I would never forget Narmada...that I would always mourn her death.  I would never die, and I would be doomed to a life of grief and misery...all because I refused to follow her.

I turned and walked away, resigned to my fate.  At least I would have the peace of mind that comes from knowing I didn't sell my soul.

I never saw the oasis again, but I have always remembered it.  Being a vampire, I am cursed with a very good memory.  I remember everything about my time with Narmada.  I remember everything about the oasis.  I can see the demon as clearly as if I just saw her today.  Everything that has happened in my life, I remember with perfect clarity.

All I can do is try to make peace with my memories.  After 6,000 years, you would think I'd be over it, but it's much harder than you would think for someone like me.  I am one of the few who were born this way.  My abilities are much stronger than those who were turned by venom.  My memories are much more acute.  They are impossible to shake.  I am doomed to remember until the day I die...if that day should ever come.

I have often wondered if I did the right thing in refusing the demon's offer.  I could be happy.  I could have Narmada.  All could be well.

But demons never mean well.  I would have had to pay a very high price for having Narmada back.  I could never pay that price, not even now.

My decision on that oasis has shaped who I am today.  As much misery as I have suffered all these years, I would not change a thing.  Everything has happened as it should.  I have come to terms with Narmada's death, if not my grief and sadness.  I have had closure.

That oasis was one of my worst nightmares, but it also saved me from myself.  That's something I would never change.

Busy Day...I Hope I Can Find Time To Write!

I wrote three character journal entries yesterday. It turned out to be more than 3,000 words, so I'm happy. I'll be writing more today, but first I've got some Fear of Writing related work to do.

We've got a big car repair bill today. It's on the Concorde. We've got another one coming up later, too. I guess I won't be saving for a mini laptop, after all. We'll likely need most of my earnings to build up our savings again.

I need to check in with the airline and print out my mom's e-ticket later today. She's going back tomorrow.

I also need to call the courthouse after five o'clock to see if I have to go in on Monday.

I downloaded the soundtrack to the Hindi movie, 99, yesterday. I love it! :D The music is very modern, but with an Indian sound to it. It keeps my feet moving and my spirits lifted, even though I can't understand most of the words. :)

Well, I've got to run. I've got a lot to do before I get started on my character journals.

Have an awesome day!

99

I got the movie, 99, in the mail yesterday and we watched it last night. It was awesome! Kunal Khemu is a very funny actor, and so was Cyrus Broacha, his side kick. My only complaint was with the subtitles. For one thing, they were often too fast for me to read. The nice thing is that I could still understand what was going on. Still, I may have to learn Hindi if I want to keep up! :) Second, some of the words in the subtitles were misspelled or just plain wrong, but again, I could understand what was going on and what was being said. If anyone is interested in finding out what Bollywood films are like, I would highly recommend this movie. It was a lot of fun to watch, and it wasn't a musical in the way you would think. The music was in the background, not part of the story. Sometimes it's nice to branch out to movies outside of Hollywood, and this movie was very entertaining. I loved this movie and I would definitely give it two thumbs up! :D

Here's a very brief synopsis I got from Netflix:
When unlucky delinquents Sachin (Kunal Khemu) and Zaramud (Cyrus Broacha) attempt to collect a debt for their boss, they stumble into a series of random misadventures involving a beautiful woman, treacherous criminals, incredible conspiracies and a large sum of money. Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., this Bollywood comedy also stars Boman Irani, Soha Ali Khan, Simone Singh and Mahesh Manjrekar.
And a few reviews [text in brackets is mine]:
*** Surprisingly good movie, well acted and decently directed. And no song and dance routines either. The story was interesting, especially the cricket fixing part, but could have used more tighter direction.

***** Funny movie - really liked it. The first 60 mins are outright hilarious, especially if you follow Bombay slang [didn't seem to be a problem for Jeff and me]. Cyrus Broacha & Mahesh Manjrekar are too good and I kept this movie for a couple of days just to replay the initial scenes. I personally hated Mahesh Manjrekar in all his previous films, but he was by far the best character in this film. If you depend on the subtitles, you probably won't like this film [which isn't true for me, as I loved it].

***** Lots of fun. A very clever script. Highly recommend it if you like a more modern, hip Hindi film. Really good.

**** Nice movie. Guys will like it more than gals [not necessarily true, I love action and comedy, and I think I liked it a little more than Jeff did]. Good plot. Kunal and Boman are good.
And that's it for my movie review, if you can call it that. ;)

Yesterday, I managed to write two character journal entries. My word count for the day was 2,409. Not bad, but it could have been better. Photobucket screwed up a bunch of my photos and I had to re-name them and re-upload them, so that ate into my writing time. :(

Today, I plan on writing more entries, but first I've got to finish up on here.

Have an awesome day! :D

Wednesday Writing Sprints!

I'll be participating in Wednesday Writing Sprints today over at the forum. I'll be working on character journal entries. I'm going to write an entry for each "villain," then if I can squeeze in any more, I'll write some for my heroes and/ or secondary characters. I'm eager to get started, but I've got to finish up online first.

My Firefox browser kept messing up last night. Three times I closed the browser, and every time I opened it I found out it didn't save my tabs. I had to open them manually all three times. :/ But then along came Eric to the rescue. He told me about the Flock browser. I downloaded it and I love it so far. It even has a photo stream near the top of the window where I can view thumbnails of all my photos on Photobucket! :D

So I can just copy and paste the code into an entry, like this:

Cool, huh? :)

I never went to Sweet Bay last night. I wasn't able to get my laundry done in time, and I decided to wait until next week to start going on a regular basis, anyway.

OH! I don't think I mentioned this here, but I'll be taking an online course at the Cherokee Nation Web site! :D The classes are Mondays and Wednesdays, I believe, with archived classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If I can't view the videos from home, I'll view them in the archives on Tuesdays. I need to see about getting there early. Maybe Chelsey can run me in some afternoons. :)

We have a wind chill advisory and a winter weather advisory. I haven't been watching the weather at all. I'm just hoping we'll be able to get to Little Rock safely on Saturday. We have to take my mom to the airport.

I've got to run. Have a great day! :D

Finally...Back to Writing!

Jury duty went well. I don't mind serving. It won't be every day, and I may not even be needed most of the time. I'll make some money every time I show up, and even more if I serve, so as long as I'm able, I'm willing to serve. :)

Anyway, last night, I started the second character journal entry for my new villain, Kalaghata. I'm about to work on it some more. If I have time, I'd like to write another one for Vladik, the other villain, as well as some entries for the "good guys." I'm loving these characters more than any others I've worked on (and that includes Zane and Xander Greywolf, as well as Lucky Raven), so I'm very eager to get started! :D

Well, Kalaghata's been waiting for me, and since he's a big, bad villain, I'd better not keep him waiting too much longer. ;)

Happy Monday!
