Shopping, Photos, etc....

I'm very late today, I know. Jeff and I got up late. We were up until just after midnight. He was watching Survivorman (I love that show!) and I was reading William W. Johnstone's Blood Bond (see my userpic). We lost track of time. So, we ended up getting up later, too.

We headed out later than expected to do our grocery shopping, where I finally found a French Press (actually, it was Jeff who pointed it out...it was on clearance in the gardening area). Here it is:

We also got a few extras, but we managed to stay within our weekly budget, so that was good. :)

And Eric gave me this picture this morning:
Isn't it cute? :D It really shows what a ham Eric is. ;)

And now I'm getting caught up on here while Jeff mows the lawn. It's been a good day, so far, and the sun has been shining nicely.

I just bought more minutes for my tracfone and now I'm about to look for decaf tea online. I'm not buying any yet. I just want to price it and let Jeff know what it'll come to.

Have a great afternoon and evening! :D

Creativity and Headaches:

Today, I'll be working on photo editing. I may work on a digital scrapbook page or two, as well.

I also need to type up the first page or two of Mira and send it on to my friend and see how she likes it.

I think I need to do some computer maintenance, too. I don't know if it's Vista, Firefox or my wireless connection, but I've been getting a lot of headaches when I'm online lately. I often have to restart my browser or my computer or both. It's like my connection stalls or something. It doesn't make any sense to me, but I've got to do some kind of maintenance, at least. :/

Anyway, those are my plans for today.

Have a good one!

My Own Personal 10K Day - Update Two:

I've added 2,055 words to Sons of the Wild Frontier: Phoenix Rising, bringing my total to 4,312 (before working on Mira, that is). I don't have an excerpt this time.

I'm trying to find out what frontier scouts were paid back around 1825. Fox was about to take a job as one before getting sidetracked by the Poker game and getting mixed up with the gang. It's not easy! If I can't find the info. I need, I may have to change some details. I don't want to have to do that. :(

Anyway, it's been a pretty good day, in spite of the constant rain and thunder until about an hour or so ago. Now I've got to go get dinner started. I'm going to start work on Mira after that...but on paper. I need to start outlining it.

Have a great afternoon and evening! :D

My Personal 10K Day Update:

So far, I've written 2,257 words in From the Ashes (Zane Greywolf).

I don't think I'll reach 10K today, but my goal isn't really to reach 10K. My goal is to work on two of my novels. I've been working since 10:00 this morning. I'm about to have lunch, then I'll work on Sons of the Wild Frontier until about 2:00. Hopefully, I can post more results then. Then I'll start work on the Mira screenplay.

Remember, Zane is twenty-five and Xander is thirty-five. Zane is young, but he's no child. Anyway, this is where they're getting ready to say goodbye for the time being:
“Call it what you will, but my gut tells me everything will work out.”

“I'll take your word for it, Zane,” Xander smiled. “I hope your optimism is catching. I could sure use a good dose of it right about now.”

“Why? What's wrong?”

“I'm about to let my little brother leave and go back to civilization where they'll likely corrupt his young mind. What's positive about that?”

“Thanks to you and your savage Indian ways, I'm already corrupt,” I grinned. Then, as I climbed onto the snowmobile behind him, I grew a bit more serious. “We'll see each other again. I promise.”

“I believe you,” he said...
Catch you later! :D

My Own Personal 10K Day

Yesterday, I wrote 3,876 words in my character journals. I didn't care as much about the word count as much as I cared about just writing their entries and reconnecting with my characters after several days of not writing.

Today will be a word count day. I want to work on From the Ashes (Zane Greywolf) and Sons of the Wild Frontier: Phoenix Rising (Book One - Fox and Sawyer Redman). This means I'll be spending a minimum of time online until I finish.

We're having storms here and I'm currently running on battery power. I'm hoping the storms will move through quickly, but if it doesn't, I'll read some before hitting my novels.

Jeff and I went to McDonald's for dinner last night. I had two cheeseburgers, minus the bread, and a side salad. The patties were so thin that they weren't very filling, but they were good. :)

And we watched a little TV before heading to bed. Yesterday was a good day. Hopefully, today will be even better.

Have a good one!

Wednesday Writing Sprints, August 19, 2009:

Today, I'll be working on my character journal entries. I really feel a need to connect with my characters right now, so that's what I'm going to do!

Then I might start work on the screenplay for "Mira." I'm going to outline the major events and dialog I want to add to it. My friend, Pat Rushing, who wrote the story, wants me to just write the first page, but I don't think I can stop there...unless, of course, I write my own screenplay from one of my own stories...or from an original idea I'm coming up with. ;)

Jeff and I went to the library last night. I forgot to ask them if they found Listening Woman. I'll check online...Yes! It's no longer showing that I still have it out. They must have finally found it! :D

We also went to Walmart so Jeff could pick up some Drano. I looked to see if they still had an 8-cup French press, but they didn't! :/ I saw it a couple of weeks ago. They had several. Now they have none. I'll have to see if they have it on their web site.

The above userpic is from the book I've just started reading. :)

Well, I've eaten and done the dishes. I'm just getting (somewhat) caught up online, then I'm off to do some writing! :)

Oh! I also signed up on Blurb.com and downloaded their BookSmart software. I've been playing around with it. I've imported Lucky Raven's old journal into it and have begun making a book for it. I'm also working on one for Native Heroes. I'm hoping to add photos and / or artwork for that one. :)

Anyway, have an awesome day! :D

Monday, August 17, 2009:

Today will mostly be a day of reading. I have to finish the most recent William W. Johnstone book before I can pick up the books I have on hold. While I'm at the library, probably today or tomorrow, I'll see if they ever found the book they reported as still not returned.

The weekend was good. I deleted all but one of my old character journals. Wednesday, during Wednesday Writing Sprints, I'll be writing new entries in the new character journal.

The satellite guy came out yesterday to get our local channels working again. Apparently, the dish for them was blown out of alignment recently when we had storms with horizontal winds. We haven't been getting the Caller I.D., either, which was odd.

Sunday night, Jeff and I watched Vanishing Point. Great movie! :D I'd never seen it before. We'll be watching The Missing again tonight. I love Cate Blanchett and Tommy Lee Jones! :)

Anyway, that's about all that's been going on here.

Have a great day!

Lois
