Writing Progress:

lmeighmyI just finished writing 2,731 words in my storm story. :)

I've introduced Samanyu, Karan's (my MC) brother, and brought in a little about Karan's relationship with Avanti (his girlfriend), who is first introduced in another short story I recently wrote. Karan has just faced twin twisters that tore off the front of the hotel he was in. Somehow, his camera bag saved him! He acknowledged the irony in the fact that the very thing that caused the breakup of his relationship with Avanti was what saved his life. He considers it a miracle...and a sign that he's doing what he's supposed to be doing (photography).

Anyway, two storms are about to collide, and it will be the biggest storm anyone has seen in his lifetime (30 years or so). ;) No, I'm not ripping off Perfect Storm. The similarity ends with the two storms merging. This is a completely different story, and they're not out at sea.

It's been fun, but now I've got to get off here and start fixing dinner.

Have a great afternoon and evening!

Today, I Have to Write, Lest I Waste Away!

lmeighmyI'm still here! :D Some of you may have heard that our general area had severe storms and tornadoes. Our immediate area was spared, thank God. Normally, I'd be a little worried because there was a chance of severe storms into the night, and around here, tornadoes are usually part of the watch. For some reason, I had peace. It could have been because of the prayer I said before heading to bed. I've no doubt we've been protected more than once. :)

I did a little writing yesterday...only about a page, but progress is progress. Since the weather was crappy, I decided to use that as inspiration. It's supposed to be rainy for the next few days, so I shouldn't have any problems with this story. ;) I plan to work on it some more today, as well as the screenplay. I'll do some editing, too.

Salvation Army came to pick up a few things yesterday. I was a bit worried that they wouldn't take the mattress we wanted to get rid of, but they did. Whew! That's a load off my mind. I wasn't sure where we'd put it when my mom comes. ;)

While they were here, we found out that Niki would definitely make a good watchdog. She wouldn't shut up until they were gone! :P

Our anniversary is Monday (May 3) and I have to go pick up a cake my cousin's wife made for us. I haven't seen it or anything, but I wanted to help her out in her new cake-making business. She said to pick it up tonight, but I'm going to see if I can get it sometime during the day today, instead.

Speaking of Eric and Chelsey, they bought Jeff and me some anniversary gifts. They bought us a bag of Ghirardelli chocolates (yummy!) and a miniature rose. I took some pictures of the roses. Here they are! :)

And we got a cash gift from Jeff's dad and stepmom, so we went out to eat. It was nice. :)

We watched some of Chance Pe Dance (Chance To Dance), but Jeff was really tired, so we didn't watch all of it. This is another movie I really want to buy. I also want the soundtrack.

Well, I need to hurry up and finish this so I can go take a shower. I also have something to take out to the mailbox.

Have a good one!

And for...Today...Zzzzz...

lmeighmyI'm kind of tired today, so I'm not going to put any pressure on myself to do anything...at least not as far as artwork or writing are concerned.

Yesterday was good. I did some grocery shopping. It was nice to get out of the house.

I never did any writing, but I jotted down a couple notes for my new character.

I also watched Mission Istaanbul yet again. It's my kind of movie- lots of action, humor, a great cast! :D I haven't seen a Vivek Oberoi or Zayed Khan movie yet that I haven't loved. :)

Jury duty is finally over. I was supposed to go in today, but it was canceled. Whew! :) I should get my pay by the end of May...hopefully long before.

It's cloudy here, with a light, misty rain. We have a good chance of rain and storms for today through tomorrow. *bleh*

I've been kind of tired lately, and my eyes have been irritated. It's not from the laptop. The laptop screen never bothers my eyes unless it has a glare on it. I try to make sure it's not sitting where bright things will reflect in it. My eyes are irritated because sometimes I rub them too much. Combine that with being tired, and you've got irritated eyes. :(

Well, I've got to go take a shower before the storms hit, so I'm going to wrap this up.

Have a great day! :D

What's On the Agenda for Today?

lmeighmyToday will be an "off" day. The kids and I are going to Walmart for a few groceries, and we have to stop at the ATM first so I can take out some cash. They'll be getting an oil change while I'm shopping.

I'm watching Chance Pe Dance, starring Shahid Kapoor. He's so great in this! :D He's one of those actors who's equally great at comedy and drama.

I'm planning on doing some writing and editing later, if I feel up to it after being out this morning. We shall see...

Have a great day!

Screenwriting Progress:

lmeighmyPrevious Total of Pages: 84
Today's Number of Pages: 18
New Total Number of Pages: 102

View more information here

Actually, I only (literally) wrote 14 pages plus about five lines of dialogue. I finally figured out how to export my script as a PDF by using the Print to File function in my printing software. This is the accurate page count.

One problem. I've only just finished Act Two, Part One. I'm going to have a ton of cutting to do when this screenplay is finished! :P

Anyway, there were some pretty good conversations in here...and my hero got shot in the leg. There wasn't much action, and the gunshot was just the opponent showing he has the power to do what he wants. ;)

Next up, my hero and his ally will make their next move! :D

I'm so glad I worked on this today. I didn't really feel like it when I started, but I feel great about it now.

And now I'm off to write something else...just a little something I have in mind for my newest character, Karan Malhotra. Then I'll work on some editing.

Briefly Speaking

lmeighmyYesterday didn't go as planned. I basically squandered it away. I guess I needed to relax a bit more before hitting the writing today.

I did get a pretty good idea of what kind of dog Niki might be: a Brindle Plott Hound (at least in part). She's got the characteristics (the brindled coat, the hunting habits, the sturdy build and sad eyes, etc.). Jeff was funny. He kept calling her "Brindle" and "Plott Hound." Personally, I think it's fitting. I'm a plot hound, and she's a Plott Hound! :P

Anyway, I'm not feeling too great today, so I'm going to take a shower, then sit back on the sofa and write. And this has nothing to do with the nasty, skunky poo I stepped in this morning (yuck!!!). I don't know if it was Niki's, Chloe's or if it belonged to some other animal, but it was obviously disgusting!!! I had to spot steam clean the carpet and mop the kitchen floor. Ick! Not the greatest job when you're already not feeling too great. :(

Anyway, I'd better go take that shower, then get some tea and relax with my writing.

Have a great day!

Writing Today

lmeighmyYesterday was a great day. I finally drew something! :D Granted, it was just the first version of what I hope will eventually be a larger, better drawing. Still, it felt good to be drawing again.

I think today I'll work on the screenplay some, since I don't have to go in for jury duty. But first, I've got some feedback to write (no, it's not for Fear of Writing).

I want to get a projector so I can transfer the drawing to a larger piece of paper. I had one a long time ago, but I don't know what ever happened to it. I want to make the Faerie with Flute larger...9"x11" or so.

Yesterday, Eric and Chelsey (with my permission) did some rearranging. They moved Josiah's crib into the studio. they moved a few other things around, too...always asking me if it was alright first. Jeff's TV and our satellite receiver are now in the living room, where I've been spending my time lately.

It's chilly here today, but there's lots of sun. Another beautiful day! :D

And on that note, I'd better hurry up on here so I can take a shower, then get to work.

Have a great day!

New Drawing (Version 1)

lmeighmyThis the first version of a new drawing. I'll be transferring it to Bristol next time I get a chance (hopefully tomorrow, but that will depend on whether or not I have to go in for jury duty). When I transfer it, I plan to vary the lines more. I'm hoping to have a black and white version and a color version.

Anyway, here it is:

Faerie with Flute

I'll likely change the hair and make some changes to the wings. I need to raise her ear a bit, too. Otherwise, I like it. :)

Let me know what you think!

Averting A Possibly Very Smelly Disaster

lmeighmyI ended up taking yesterday off from writing. I just caught up online and did other stuff. I'm going to spend today in much the same way, just relaxing and doing other things. I'd like to get my mom's room ready, or at least make a good start of it.

Jeff and I went grocery shopping last night. We spent a lot less than Jeff thought we would, and ended up only getting five dinners, so we'll have to go back for two more.

When we returned home, as we were pulling into the driveway, we saw a skunk! :D It was doing it's cute little clumsy run and disappeared around the back corner of the house. I texted Eric, who was inside, and asked him to turn on both the back porch light and the side light, where we enter. We didn't have any problems from the skunk, thankfully, and they really only spray as a last resort, because they never know how much fluid they have at any given time. ;) Still, it's best to err on the side of caution, and cautious we were.

Then we walked Niki. On the way back, a cat started following us from a distance. It was meowing really loudly, and we couldn't get a really good look at it, but I felt sorry for it. Still, I'm determined not to take in every stray that comes around. Niki was enough stray for me! :P

So far this morning, I've washed a sink full of dishes, fixed Jeff's and my breakfasts for the next four days, cleaned the counter really good and reorganized everything on it, checked my e-mail and posted my dailies. I'm going to finish catching up online, then I'm going to work on my mom's room, take a shower, then read for a bit, I think. Or I may start work on an art project. We shall see...

Have a great Sunday!

Lois
