Busy Saturday Ahead

Yesterday, I actually got more writing done than I thought I would. I edited what I wrote (in my new story) on Thursday during 10K Day, then went on to add 1,865 words to it. :) I doubt I'll get any writing done today, but we'll see.

Jeff and I watched two episodes of Mutant X last night. We have one more Mutant X DVD to watch, and I told Jeff that if he doesn't want to watch the third DVD, Vivah (another Hindi movie, but one that's gotten excellent reviews on Netflix), I'll watch it by myself.

We'll be going to Sam's Club today. I've never shopped there, so I'm looking forward to checking it out.

And we have to do our regular grocery shopping, too.

It'll be a pretty full day, so I don't know if I'll find any time to write. I want to, though. Even if I just jot down a sentence here and there in a notebook.

Anyway, as always, I've got to finish up on here so I can get ready to go.

As Jahan would say: "Peace and wisdom,"

Short & Boring

Today's the first day of Jeff's weekend, so I don't know if I'll get much writing done. I'd like to work on my story some, but we'll see. I also want to take the decorations off the tree so we can take that down.

Otherwise, I think my day's pretty free. Come to think of it, I may actually get some writing done, after all. :)

And I have feedback to write. I'll work on that as soon as I finish up online.

Well, this has been a boring post. At least it's short! :P

Have a great day!

A 10K Day Success!

I wrote a good eleven character journal entries, but things seemed to be going slowly. Then I started work on a story starring one of my newest characters. My word count really took off from there. I ended up with a final word count of 11,006!

I'm really loving this new story, too. I'm hoping it will be a short story, but I tend to be a bit long-winded when it comes to short stories. I'll have to pare it back a lot when it's finished. I don't mind, though. It's all part of the writing process...even if I do hate to cut those extra words out.

So, there you have it, another successful 10K Day. :)

January 14, 2010 -- 10K Day!

I'll be starting 10K Day shortly. I won't be back on here until I'm finished for the day.

And real quick, I wrote four character journals yesterday for a total word count of 2,234! Not bad, but I hope I can write a lot more today. ;)

If anyone has anything you want me to know, post it in a comment here, please.

Have an awesome day!

10K Day, Here I Come!

I don't have to go in for jury duty tomorrow, so I wanted to let everyone know that I'll be spending the day writing. I'll still post my regular post in the morning, but I won't be back on until I'm done, and then only to post my progress/ results.

I'll post about this again in the morning.

Have a great evening! :D

Wednesday Writing Sprints!

I only wrote two character journal entries yesterday, but they were pretty good, I think. My word count was 1,856.

I went to Sweet Bay last night, but all I managed to do was sign up for another MySpace account. This one will be different from my other two, which I don't even go to anymore. I don't know if I'll be able to keep up, but I'm going to try. ;)

I need to upload my stuff to Box.net. I haven't done that in a while.

Today is Wednesday Writing Sprints, and I'll be working on brainstorming, then character journal entries for my new characters. I need to get really serious about the story and come up with the major conflict, as well as the secondary conflicts. I'm hoping to get a good start on that today.

I have to call about jury duty tonight. I hope I don't have to go in tomorrow. I'd like to participate in 10K Day.

Have an awesome day! :D

DHOL!!! Buddy, Banging A Drum!!!

Jury duty's been postponed again...until Thursday. I have to call in tomorrow night to find out if it's still on.

Jeff and I watched another hilarious Bollywood movie last night. It's two-and-a-half hours long. It's called Dhol Kiska Bajega. Kunal Khemu (from 99) co-stars in it. It's about four lazy young men who try to make a beautiful young woman fall in love with them, but they get into a lot of trouble along the way. Parts of it are very slapstick, and it's hilarious! The subtitles disappeared in one brief part, but we could still pretty much follow along. We both enjoyed it very much, and Jeff kept singing the chorus to the best song! :P

Anyway, I'll be working on character journals again today. I may start outlining my story, too. I've got the main conflict. Now I need to come up with the three sub-conflicts, then the rest of the story.

I got a lot of writing done yesterday: five character journal entries totaling 3,496 words. :)

10K Day is this Thursday and next Saturday. I'm hoping I won't have to go in for jury duty on Thursday so I can participate. I guess I'll find out Wednesday night.

And on that note, I'd better go. I've got to get caught up on here, then on the writing forum and Blogspot.

Have an excellent day! :D

Jury Duty? What's That?

I'm home today. Jury duty was postponed until tomorrow. I have to call tonight to see if I still have to go in.

Yesterday was a pretty good day. I got a lot of writing done. I'm hoping to get a lot more done today. I also organized my studio...at least part of it. It looks good. :)

It's starting to warm up here. Today's high is supposed to be 47°. I guess we can stop dripping the faucet. It's been nice and sunny. That's always a bonus.

Jeff and I went to pick Eric up from work last night. He thought my music (from the Hindi movie, 99, soundtrack) was stupid...until I began playing the track called Soch Mat Dobara, by Bonnie Chakraborty. It has some rap in it that's in English, and the chorus is really catchy. It was funny to hear him singing the line where they sing the title. :P

Well, I've got a busy day planned, so I'd better go.

Have a great day and an awesome week! :D

The Highly Anticipated Meeting

And now I've written a new character journal for Kangee (pronounced KAN ee), another one of my characters.

The breakdown for today:

Jahan's Listening To the Heart: 2,318
Jahan's The Building War: 758
Kangee's Finally, Some Answers!: 1,905
________________
Grand Total: 4,981

Not bad. Not bad at all. :)

And these two characters (Jahan and Kangee) have finally met, a meeting I've been eager to write about!

I also came up with a model for another secondary character, who will be important to Jahan's part of the story. :)

And I think I've come up with the one main conflict that will run throughout the trilogy. Scratch that. I know I've come up with the main conflict. Now I need to come up with major underlying conflicts for each of the three books, then I can start adding other smaller conflicts and scenes and stuff. This ought to be goooooooood! :D

And now I really have to go.

Have a great evening!

Lois

Jahan

Wow! Two character journal entries in a row by Jahan: 2,318 + 758 = 3,076. And I still have to write an entry for Kangee, which will tie in with the second entry by Jahan. :)

Jahan is very ambitious. When he was young, he learned to listen to what is in his heart, but he also learned that with great power comes great responsibility. He has been applying the second lesson a little too well, and the first lesson not enough. He's about to find out that he'll have to have a balance of the two if the world as he knows it is to be saved.

I am so loving this! ( I say that a lot, I know, but really...I am so loving this! :D )

I'm about to post these to Native Heroes, then I'll write that Kangee entry, then shower...

Back To Work

Yesterday was good, but I didn't get any writing done. I guess it's okay to take a day off once in a while. :)

The trip went well, but my stomach started bothering me. I think I should start packing my own food to take with me so I don't have that problem. :( My mom arrived safely and I talked to her last night after we got home from Walmart.

I have a welcome letter to write for my second student. I'll be doing that before I work on my own writing. Then I'll work on more character journal entries.

I don't have to go in on Monday for Jury Duty. It was postponed until Tuesday, so I have to call in Monday night to find out if it's still on.

Have a good day!
