Nanowrimo Eve!

I'm getting a late start this morning. I'm doing laundry while I update. Once that's done, I'll take a shower and we'll head out to do our grocery shopping.

I hope to work on revising the feedback before we leave, too. If not, I'll do it when we get back. Then I'll work on revising my outline and writing more of my short story.

Tomorrow is the first day of Nanowrimo!!!!! *happy dance* I've got my writing music, my outline and elements, a whole month to write. What's missing?

Rewards! I plan to reward myself every time I reach my word count goal. I'm shooting for 50K, the standard, but am hoping to write more than that each day. I plan to take Saturdays off, plus Thanksgiving day, and that works out to 25 days of writing and 2,000 words per day. If I can write more than that every day, I'll be pleased. Also, I plan to participate in 10K Day on the 19th. If I meet my 10K goal on that day, it'll give me a good word count boost, which I'm sure I'll need!

I made a CD of some of the faster songs I've downloaded lately. I need to make another one of some of the best road trip songs I have. The CD I made last night is definitely a great road trip CD, but I need to make one with songs about roads and streets and freedom and biking and driving, etc. I don't think I have enough songs for a CD like that yet, but I need to see what I've got and then do a search on Amazon. Steve Earle's Copperhead Road will definitely be on there. Can anyone think of any more good road trip songs?

Well, I've got to hurry up and get off here.

Have a great weekend!

Get Your Groove On!

I just made my donation to Nanowrimo! :D

I had an assignment come in yesterday afternoon, so I'm going to work on the first draft of my feedback this morning, then I'm going to work on my outline. I only have today and tomorrow to finish it, so I really need to buckle down and get busy!

I've been on a Family Force 5 kick for the past day and a half. I love their song, Fever (this video has a static photo from the cover of their Dance or Die CD with the lyrics to the song):

I've also been on a House of Heroes kick and this is my favorite song by them:

The great thing is that both of these bands are Christian (which is mostly what I listen to)! :D

I only wish I could find some great videos from Forever...

But at least I can revisit this awesome acoustic guitar favorite by Nuno Bettencourt:

Note: If you want to see a really great, truly acoustic version with no other backing, go here (embedding was disabled or I would have posted this video instead)...

Anyway, the rain seems to have stopped, but it's still really, really cloudy. The forecast says partly cloudy, so hopefully they'll clear out soon!

And on that note, I'd better go. I want to get that first draft finished so I can work on my outline.

Happy T.G.I.F.!

Ode to Sunny Days Soon to Return...

So far, I only have one feedback to do today. I wrote one last night and it was accepted without any needed changes. I have to do a little bit of studying this morning before I write this last feedback. Once it's done and the feedback is written and posted, I should be able to work on my outline! :D

Jeff and I watched Ghost Hunters and the first half of Destination: Truth last night. We were both falling asleep by then! :P Tonight, we'll be watching La Femme Nikita.

I guess today we're supposed to have a major rain event:
At 7:55 AM...National Weather Service Doppler radars detected a line of strong thunderstorms continuing to Advance eastward into eastern Oklahoma. The activity extended along and to the west of a bigheart to Cleveland to Seminole to Ardmore line. Out ahead of this line through eastern Oklahoma and across northwest Arkansas were isolated showers. All of this activity was lifting rapidly northeast at around 40 miles per hour.

Through 9 AM...showers and thunderstorms will be increasing in coverage across Osage...Washington...Tulsa...creek...Okfuskee and western Okmulgee counties. A few of the storms will have the potential to become severe with large hail and strong winds the primary threats. Heavy downpours will be common along the length of this line with hourly rainfall rates of up to one and a half inches possible. Isolated to scattered showers will remain possible elsewhere across eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas out ahead of this line of thunderstorms. A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for m...

Great! Just dandy! We're supposed to have rain tomorrow, too. They're saying it will clear up by Saturday. I'll believe it if/ when I see it! :/

Well, I'd better run. I want to get my work done (again, without rushing it) so I can resume outlining my Nanowrimo Novel.

Have a great day!

I'm Really Getting Excited About Nanowrimo 2009!

Well, today I have three feedbacks to write. I did well on the ones I did yesterday, so I'm hoping to have the same results today, if not a teeny bit better.

Then, if I can find the time, I want to work on my Nano Novel's outline. I have about four days to get it done. I don't want to wait until Halloween night to write it!

The Nanowrimo Kick-Off Party at Sweet Bay went well. It was fun! I took my laptop, even though I got there too late to use it early. I used it later on when most of the Yetis were playing a game. I showed some Red Dwarf videos to a friend. ;) I wasn't able to do any writing, though. It was way too noisy.

Tonight, Jeff and I will watch Ghost Hunters. I don't know if we'll watch Destination: Truth. As much as I love that show, we may just be too tired. Last night, I was still wired from the party, so couldn't fall asleep right away, then I woke up some time before the alarm went off and had a hard time getting back to sleep. Same ol' patterns are resurfacing. I might have to start taking antihistamines again. :/

Everything's great, otherwise. I only have to babysit for about an hour or two today, and that's around dinner time. If I can get the feedbacks finished (I don't want to rush it) and begin the outline, I'll be very happy! :)

The sky is beginning to clear! :D It started out foggy and cloudy this morning, very dark and gloomy. But now the clouds are moving out and I'm seeing lots of blue sky!

Well, I'd better go. I need to finish up on here so I can give the device to Eric.

Have a great day!

Less than Five Days!

Yesterday was good, but I didn't do all the feedback that needs to be done. I had to work on Course Presenter training and I still have some of that, plus feedback, to do today. I'm hoping to have it done by the time I have to leave for Sweet Bay tonight, but I'm not going to rush it.

I want so badly to work on my short story and my Zane Greywolf outline. There's less than a week until Nanowrimo begins and I've barely done anything with the outline. :( I still need to get my mom's room ready before November 1 too, so I don't have a lot of stuff to do during Nanowrimo.

The weather's still gloomy here today, but I think tomorrow's supposed to be sunny. I'll believe it when I see it.

Jeff and I watched two more episodes of Mutant X last night. I love that show! :D

My new CD, My Precious Little One, by Rick Springfield, came in the mail yesterday. I love it! The Christmas one came a couple of days ago and I love that one, too! :)

I bought several songs on Amazon.com yesterday, too...by Disciple, 12 Stones, Big Dismal, KJ-52, Run Kid Run, Stellar Kart, Tenth Avenue North and Extreme. I've got lots of new writing music! Not all of it's new, but some of it is new to me or older music that I used to have a long time ago. :)

Well, I'd better go. I have to switch the laundry over, wash my breakfast dishes then get to work on that CP training and feedback.

Have a great day, everyone!

Work, Computer Stuff and Errands

I've got two feedbacks to write today with at least two more expected. Milli's going to push me hard with at least one of them. I'm glad I'm feeling much better than I was on Friday! :)

And I've backed everything up, installed Windows 7 and reloaded everything back onto my computer. All that's left is to reinstall my programs. I'll do that as I go, so I don't have a huge job to do all at once. So far, I like Windows 7, but it'll take some time to know for sure how I'll like it in the long run. One thing I need to figure out is how to make my desktop icons smaller. I hate large icons and the ones on my desktop are large. :/

I got to do some reading from William W. Johnstone's Gunsight Crossing. The good guys just stole a whole town (except for all the outhouses and people's personal belongings). Quite a feat, considering they were using horses, mules and wagons. ;)

Chelsey and I will be going to the bank, then to Walmart at some point today. I'll finally get that money order! :D Soon, I'll have Forever's new CD, Reborn, in my hands! *happy dance*

And now, I've got to take a shower.

Have a great day!

Computer Work for Today:

Well, today promises to be frustrating, but we'll see. I have one feedback to do this morning, but that's not the frustrating part of my day. The frustrating part is when I finally begin to install Windows 7. Yep! That's right! I bought it yesterday (it's just an upgrade, but I'm okay with that). I sure hope Windows 7 is everything I've heard it is. I'm tired of all these problems with Vista. :/

If I get any writing done today, I'll be lucky. I'm not counting on it, but you never know.

I'm babysitting until 5:30 today, too.

Red Dwarf: Back to Earth was hilarious! :D For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a Britcom spoof of science fiction shows (Star Trek comes to mind) with very juvenile humor. This is the only show I really enjoy that uses that kind of humor. The four characters are stranded far from Earth. There is one human male (Lister, played by Craig Charles), one human-cat hybrid male (Cat, played by Danny John-Jules), one holographic male (played by Chris Barrie) and one mechanoid male (played by Robert Llewellyn). The mechanoid and the human are my favorites.

It's cloudy here today, but there is still a little bit of blue sky peeking through the gray. I don't know how long it'll last, but I'll enjoy it while it's still here.

And now, I'd better go. I need to write that feedback, then start backing up my data before the install. I'm not really that annoyed by it. I'm actually glad to be able to upgrade. Vista's just a big ol' headache lately. ;)

Have an awesome day!
