Saturday!

So far, I have no feedback to do, but I'm relatively certain I'll have some before the end of the day.

Jeff and I will be going to the bank shortly to do the night deposit (unless the drive through should happen to be open). I'm not sure where or when I'll be able to get a money order (in Canadian funds), but I need it soon. I really want the new Forever CD!

Speaking of entertainment, Jeff and I watched some of The Indian Tomb, starring Conrad Veidt (1921) last night. He started feeling sleepy a little before nine, so we went to bed. I can't wait to see the rest! It's not nearly as creepy as Nosferatu, at least not yet, but I'm enjoying it. :)

We're going grocery shopping after we go to the bank. Chelsey wants us to go to the one where she's working. ;)

I'm not sure what we'll be doing after that, but I'm going to try to get caught up on my Friends Pages on LJ and Blogspot. I may get some more writing done, or it may be a day off. I'm not sure yet. I'll just play it by ear.

The sun is shining and it's nice and cool at only 51°! :D

Have a great day!

Time to Write! :D

At this time, I don't have any feedback to do, but that may change later on. I'm hoping to work on my short story some more today. I left off at a part I'm excited about, so here's hoping! :)

I have to babysit later, so I'm hoping to get my writing done early. At this age, Josiah's not really much of a handful, but you never know what might come up.

I haven't been able to get to the bank, so Jeff and I will be going this afternoon so I can make a night deposit. It seems to be the only way I'll be able to put my money in my account! :P

It's nice and sunny here right now. I think some clouds are supposed to move in later, but for now, I'm loving it! :D

Tomorrow's Jeff's day off. Maybe I can get caught up on some things.

I'd better go. I need to get busy!

Have a great day!

10K Day Results:

The word counter has spoken. I've reached my goal of 5K! :D

I wrote two feedbacks, two e-mails and then worked on a Fox Redman short story. I left off where Fox first met his future brother-in-law, É’etsénoonámas (Broken Wing), a young Cheyenne warrior. I left off at a place where I can get some good first impressions of this character, who becomes a lifelong friend of Fox's. :)

I had an important Skype conference call in there, too, that lasted over an hour and a half. Not bad, considering how late of a start I got today.

So, that's my 10K Day for this month! I didn't reach 10K, but I'm happy to have accomplished the goal I set for myself. :D

Have a great evening,

Lois

10K Day!

Today is 10K Day for Writers and I'll be working on some Sons of the Wild Frontier short stories. I'll also be working on some feedback. I'm shooting for 5K because of my late start, but hopefully I'll get more than that. We shall see...

I still need to go to the bank and post office, too. This should be an interesting day, if nothing else. ;)

And on that note, I'd better go. I know this is short, but it can't be helped.

Have a great day!

Wednesday Writing Sprints

Today is Wednesday Writing Sprints! I plan to work on Cottage. Between today and tomorrow, which is 10K Day, I'm hoping to have Cottage finished. Then I'll work on some short story outlines and tweaking of other outlines...especially Zane Greywolf's. I want this to be the last rewrite. ;)

I went to Sweet Bay last night and my goody bag contributions have been delivered. I don't do very well in crowds, so I didn't talk much. Get me one-on-one and I'm good. Get me on a conference call, apparently I'm good. But get me in a room full of people I don't know very well and I clam up. It must be the face-to-face, crowd of people thing I'm no good at. Anyway, we worked on a fellow writer's story (and some of us did other stuff on our laptops at the same time). I was told that next week we'll write more and the week after that is the Kick-Off Party.

As of this moment, I don't have any feedback, so I'm going to hurry up on here and post to the writer's forum and Blogspot. Then, if I still don't have any feedback to do, I'll start working on Cottage

Have a great day!

Lyrics: Things Left Unsaid, by Disciple

Note: More inspiration for Evasion. This song was written for Kevin Young's (Disciple's lead singer) grandfather. In my story, it will inspire Xander's feelings for his younger brother, Zane, with circumstances to match.

It's just a matter of time a few days ago
I saw you, you were fine
Remembering what you said
About the book you read
The one I got you
The Beginning of the End
Oh how we'd talk
For hours upon end
What I would give
Just to do it again
But you're lying there
In this hospital bed
Won't you open your eyes
And let's talk once again

(CHORUS)
If you fly away tonight
I want to tell you that I love you
I hope that you can hear me
I hope that you can feel me
If you fly away tonight
I want to tell you that I'm sorry
That I never told you
When we were face to face

Well I've been here all night
And I'm watching you
Breathe in and breathe out
Is it really you
Or just a machine
That's giving you life
And it's making it seem
That there could be hope
I could say to your face
If it weren't for you
That there would be no grace
That's covered my life
You took the time
To speak into my mind
And my heart
Words of life

(CHORUS)

So goodbye for now
And I'll see you again
Some way, somehow
When it's my time to go
to the other side
I'll hold you again
And melt at your smile
Now all I have
Are the ones that I'm with
And you taught me not
To take for granted
The time that we have
To show that we care
Speak into their minds
And their hearts
While they're here
And say I love you

(Chorus)

Lyrics: Burning Bridges, by Seventh Day Slumber

Note: Inspiration for Xander's story, Evasion

Set this place on fire, burn it to the ground
‘Cause I don’t want to live here anymore
take away these thoughts that empty me
Could You take them all away?

Am I too blind? I can’t see, it’s killing me
I feed off abuse, nothing’s changed
It always bleeds like this

The holiest of liars, what have I become?
I’m holding on to nothing once again
Addiction holds the keys to my freedom
Could You take it all away?

Am I too blind? I can’t see
It always bleeds like this

Will I Actually Get to Work On My Writing Today?

As of now, I don't have any feedback to give, but that could change. In the meantime, I'll finish up here, then check my e-mail and the writer's forum. After that, if I still don't have any feedback to do, I'll work on the character journal entries.

Jeff and I watched the season one finale of La Femme Nikita. He thinks the show is over, but it's not. *g* I just updated my queue to move season two to the top, along with the next few Mutant X discs and a few discs from season one of Perfect Strangers. Sometime soon, we'll be watching the original Battlestar Galactica, as well as some hilarious Harold Lloyd silent movies. We'll also get to see the Red Dwarf movie. I'm really impatient for that one, but there's a long wait. :(

I babysat until almost 10:30 last night, so I'm still kind of tired. I'm sitting here with a large French press full of Boston tea. Yummy! :P

It's rainy here today. Surprisingly, I kind of like it. It's 63° here today...warmer than I'd like, but cooler than it normally is at this time of year. Pretty soon, the lake under the Bradford Pear will be a sea, then an ocean. :/

I'm hoping to go to Sweet Bay tonight, but only if there are enough people going...and if I can get the tea ready to go. I haven't had time to sit down and do that.

Well, I'd better get busy. I have a lot I need to do.

Have a great Tuesday! :D

From My Uncle: "Daddy ... It hurts"

I must be stupid,
I must be bad,
What else could have made,
My daddy so mad?

I wish I were better,
I wish I weren't ugly,
Then maybe my mommy,
Would still want to hug me.

I can't do a wrong,
I can't speak at all,
Or else I'm locked up,
All day long.

When I'm awake,
I'm all alone,
The house is dark,
My folks aren't home.

When my mommy does come home,
I'll try and be nice,
So maybe I'll just get,
One whipping tonight.

I just heard a car,
My daddy is back,
From Charlie's bar

I hear him curse,
My name is called,
I press myself,
Against the wall.

I try to hide,
From his evil eyes,
I'm so afraid now,
I'm starting to cry.

He finds me weeping,
Calls me ugly words,
He says its my fault,
He suffers at work.

He slaps and hits me,
And yells at me more,
I finally get free,
And run to the door.

He's already locked it,
And I start to bawl,
He takes me and throws me,
Against the hard wall.

I fall to the floor,
With my bones nearly broken,
And my daddy continues,
With more bad words spoken.

'I'm sorry!', I scream,
But it's now much too late,
His face has been twisted,
Into a unimaginable shape.

The hurt and the pain,
Again and again,
O please God, have mercy!
O please let it end!

And he finally stops,
And heads for the door,
While I lay there motionless,
Sprawled on the floor.

My name is Chris,
I am three,
Tonight my daddy,
Murdered me.

Time to Get Busy!

I have some feedback to do today. I will probably have more before the day is over. I'm hoping to squeeze in a character journal entry or two. Maybe I'll even find some time to transcribe some more of Cottage.

I'll be babysitting this afternoon into tonight, so I want to get as much work done during the day as I can.

I don't know when we'll see the sun again, but I'm loving the lower temps. It's been in the 50's and 60's here. :)

I'm planning to go to Sweet Bay tomorrow night. I hope I don't have to babysit!

Well, there's not really much to write home about, so I'd better get off here and fix breakfast, then get to work.

Have an awesome day! :D

Free Day!

Looks like I've got a mostly free day of writing ahead of me. I have a business e-mail to send out, but no feedback at the moment (except for my friend's book).

I'll be working on my outlines and some character journals, then maybe I'll write some more of Cottage, too.

I also want to read.

But first I've got to check in over at the Int'l Scribe's Support Group.

It's really cloudy here today and I guess it's supposed to be like this for the next several days- cloudy with rain chances most days and/ or nights. :/

Well, I'd better go fix myself some tea, then get started on my work.

Have a great Sunday!

Lois
