Today, my hero and his ally have made the decision to face the challenge before them. The ally is a daredevil who has always been opposed to slavery, so it's no surprise that he would be up to the challenge. The hero, however, is acting quite contrary to his norm. Being a slave trader, he normally looks at slaves as less than human, with no rights or privileges. The slave girl has made him change his outlook enough so that he is now making decisions that could put his reputation, his business, his very life in danger.
And this is only the beginning. The hero and his ally haven't actually made their first move yet. They've decided on it, and when I pick it up again, they will make the attempt. This should prove interesting...and difficult...as it is two men against dozens of armed guards.
So, why is the hero going against his beliefs? What makes this woman so special?
