Ho Hum...

I'm taking at least two days off from my writing. Yesterday, my personal 5K Day, was a success! I wrote four character journal entries, then wrote a lot more in my story. My total for the day was 5,470!

Anyway, I think we'll be going out today, but I'm not sure where. I need to get out of the house. I'm in the doldrums and I need a change of scenery, if only for a little while.

Tonight, I have to call about jury duty. I'm supposed to go in on Monday.

Jeff and I watched Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and Burn Notice last night. The first one I consider fun research, same with the second. The third was just good entertainment...something I really needed.

Have a good day!

Personal 5K Day

I did so well yesterday that I thought I'd make today a personal 5K Day. I'm going to work on my story and some character journals, as usual. I ended up writing four character journals yesterday, plus I added 1,434 words to my story, bringing my total for the day to 3,972.

Jeff and I watched Vivah last night. It's from 2006 and stars Shahid Kapoor (see piccie to the left...click to view it larger) and Amrita Rao. It was an amazing love story...another movie I would highly recommend (Netflix has it). Here's the description:
A couple entering an arranged marriage finds love during their engagement period in this sweet drama from India. In spite of his pampered life as the scion of a prominent family, Prem (Shahid Kapoor) is a mature and responsible man. Though he thinks he's too young for marriage, he agrees to meet Poonam (Amrita Rao) at his father's suggestion. The two soon realize they're soul mates, but when a crisis occurs, their new love is put to the test." (150 minutes, 2006)
It's unrated, but I would give it a G rating. It was clean, there was no cussing or violence. It was just a really great movie. :) For more info., click here...

And to learn more about Kaminey, the other movie I talked about really recently, click here. I'd give this one an R rating, mostly for violence, but there was a little bad language, as well as adult content.

Anyway, I've got to hurry up if I want to get started on my 5K Day.

Hope your Thursday is an awesome one!

January 20 Wednesday Writing Sprints

I added 2,821 words to my story yesterday. And I wrote feedback for one of my students. I've been revising that feedback, and I'm hoping to be able to post it this morning.

And for today's Wednesday Writing Sprints, I want to work on my story some more. I may work on some character journals, too.

I went to Sweet Bay last night and came up with loglines for two of the books I wrote last winter/ spring. Predators and The Guardian were the books, and I wrote them both at the same time...quite a feat, I know, and difficult to do, since they shared some characters, which made it hard to keep them straight. ;)

It's mostly sunny here right now. I hope it stays that way, but I doubt it will. I guess we'll see. The high today is supposed to be around 70°. It's already 62°.

Another short post, I know, but I've got a lot to do and I want to get started.

Have a great day! :D

And It Begins...

OMG! Josiah just pulled himself up a few minutes ago. He grabbed onto the TV stand and pulled himself up to a standing position. Chelsey was yelling for Eric to come out of the bathroom and see, and he came out with a t-shirt and a towel wrapped around him. LOL! We both missed it, but I'm sure we'll see it soon enough. ;)

I'm not looking forward to the time when he's walking around and getting into everything, but he sure is cute now! :D

Get Your Back Off the Wall

I didn't write as much as I wanted to yesterday. I only wrote three character journal entries, for a subtotal of 1,138. I didn't think I'd get any more writing in, but I ended up adding another 991 words to my new story. That one scene brought my total to 2,129. Not great, but not bad, either.

And I've found a "model" for the woman in the story, adding to my feeling of success. :)

I added some work out DVDs to my Netflix queue. I'm trying to find something fun that I can stick with. I'm thinking of some kind of dance style workout, but not anything I won't be able to keep up with. Has anyone here ever done belly dancing? I've heard it's tough, but that it's an awesome workout. Of course, if I were to do that, I'd do it in regular work out clothes. I'm not getting one of those skimpy I Dream Of Jeannie outfits. ;)

I still want to get into running, though. At this point, that's what I most want to do.

Anyway, I'll be going to Sweet Bay tonight to meet up with the Yetis. :) We may be discussing loglines, which will be very helpful when I write my screenplays...and novels.

And now I'd better wrap it up on here.

Have a great day!

Winging It...Again

Yesterday was a good day. It was laundry day, but as usual, I kept forgetting about it because I was working on my writing. It's all done now though, so I'm good. :)

I opened my latest story to see about editing what I had so far. It was turning out to be more of an action/ adventure story than I wanted it to be, so I edited out several scenes and replaced them with scenes more akin to what I wanted. I'm loving it a lot more now, and I'm starting to form some ideas about where I want it to go. I should have brainstormed and outlined beforehand, but I was anxious to write down the scenes I've been thinking about, so I started it without the needed prep work. It's coming out pretty good, though. I do know where I want it to end up, and I've got the beginning. I just have to figure out how to get Jahan and Petra from the beginning to the end. Piece of cake. ;)

I've been getting better about getting off the computer earlier, too. For a while there, my schedule was thrown off because of Nanowrimo and my cold/ flu. It just threw everything off. Now I'm back to my old habits, for the most part. I actually fixed our omelets for tomorrow morning before I got on here today...something I haven't done in a while. :)

Anyway, I plan to work on my story today. I also want to work on some character journal entries, since I didn't work on any yesterday like I wanted to.

And I'm not sure about my word count for yesterday. I'm estimating that it was sitting at somewhere between 4-6K when I started. By the time I finished yesterday, it was up to 8,247 words. I added three pages to it too. Whereas it was sitting at a little under 10 pages before I started working on it, it was 13 pages when I finished. :)

Have a great day! :D

Kaminey

Yesterday was a good day. We went to Sam's Club and I got a great deal on black printer ink. I also found two work out DVDs I want to get sometime in the near future.

Then we went grocery shopping. I forgot to pick up some more Ginseng Energy tea, so I'm glad I still have regular Ginseng.

99 and Kaminey came in the mail yesterday (from Amazon.com). I watched Kaminey last night, since I've already seen 99. Shahid Kapoor (see picture to the left...click to view larger) played identical twins, Guddu and Charlie. Guddu stutters and Charlie has a lisp. The brothers can't stand each other, but when trouble comes to each of them, they find they only have each other. It was a gritty movie, but it had great acting (especially Shahid Kapoor) and an excellent story; and the subtitles were a lot easier to follow, compared to 99 and Dhol Kiska Bajego. It had a lot of violence and some cussing, otherwise it was an awesome film.

Then Jeff and I watched two more episodes of Mutant X. We don't usually watch that much in one sitting, but we just felt like relaxing.

I didn't do any writing. It ended up being a day off. Today, I'll be back at it again. :)

I hope you're all having a great weekend! :D
