Free Day!

Looks like I've got a mostly free day of writing ahead of me. I have a business e-mail to send out, but no feedback at the moment (except for my friend's book).

I'll be working on my outlines and some character journals, then maybe I'll write some more of Cottage, too.

I also want to read.

But first I've got to check in over at the Int'l Scribe's Support Group.

It's really cloudy here today and I guess it's supposed to be like this for the next several days- cloudy with rain chances most days and/ or nights. :/

Well, I'd better go fix myself some tea, then get started on my work.

Have a great Sunday!

Rain, Rain...Well, You Know the Drill...

We've been having a ton of rain. We had a tornado watch last night, but that expired somewhere between 10:30 and midnight. We're still getting rain and we have a flash flood warning.

Again, I've got a lot of work to do. I don't have as much feedback, though, so I should be able to work on my character journal entries. And I have some bills to pay. I'll be getting a money order tomorrow to send to Keith Dawson for Forever's new CD, Reborn. I can't wait! :D

Speaking of Keith Dawson, he's been kind enough to help me out a little bit with information about Mi'kmaq culture and tradition. This will help greatly with my Zane Greywolf novel. I really appreciate his help. In addition to being the band's drummer, he is also their manager, so he's got to be really busy. I'm trying not to bother him too much, but it's nice of him to help when he can. :)

Well, I'd better get a move on.

Have a great day!

Busy Schedule from Here On Out

I was able to work on two character journal entries yesterday and I've posted them to the journal. I worked on Lucky Raven's and Zane Greywolf's. I plan on working on some today too, but it depends on my other work. I have a lot to do, but I have a list right beside me. I'll have to keep a list here every day and stick to it if I want to keep up with everything.

That said, I'll still be posting my dailies and my regular post in the mornings, but I won't be able to catch up with everyone until sometime in the afternoons or evenings. I'm sure I'll miss some, but I'll try to keep up.

I have a Skype business call today at ten and I need to make sure everything's in working order beforehand. I also need to post to my Blogspot blog, the Writer's Support Group (it's now public!) and work on more feedback for other writers. I'll be alternating feedback with the character journals after the business call is over.

I'm planning to start meeting with the Fort Smith writing group this coming Tuesday night. That will add another item to my schedule through the rest of October into early December, but it'll be a fun item. :)

Anyway, I've got to get a move on.

Have a great day!

Here Am I!

I'm getting a late start this morning, but now I'm here and I'm ready to get down to work.

I've got feedback to give and character journal entries to write. I've got an outline to tweak and Cottage to work on. I'm a busy girl! :)

We had enough rain over the past two days or so to create another pond underneath the Bradford Pear. With all this rain we've been having, we just need some much cooler temperatures and we may actually see some colorful fall foliage (but I'm not holding my breath). The clouds have moved out and it's now mostly sunny. There are some clouds to the north, but they should (hopefully) be moving out. It's 61° here right now and I have the window open. I'm loving it! :D

Anyway, I'd better get to work. I have to babysit around 2:30, so that gives me about four hours that I can concentrate on my work.

Have a great day!

More Business...

I've got a lot of work today, so don't know if I'll get any writing done. If nothing else, I'll work on some character journal entries.

I'm downloading new writing music. Kenny Rogers seems a good bet for writing westerns. Remember "Coward of the County" and "The Gambler"? And Eddie Rabbit's "I Love A Rainy Night" seems only fitting for a day like today. :) I'm also downloading more music by Mourning Widows, good for when I'm working on Lucky Raven's and Zane and Xander Greywolf's stories.

I'm babysitting again today. Josiah's sleeping right now.

The weather is wet here again, but I'm feeling pretty chipper...even though the Bradford Pear has a new pond under it. We've had some thunder, but nothing too bad since early this morning.

And on that note, I've got to get off here and get busy with my work. I also need to work out a schedule so I can keep on track with everything.

Have a great day!

Two Twitter-Length Short Stories:

I'm new at flash fiction, but I recently discovered how fun it can be. I hadn't written any in a few weeks and was inspired to write a couple stories that were short enough to be posted from Twitter. I've written two in the past few days.

Short and sweet...or sad, as the case may be. ;)

From today:
The rain fell in a steady drizzle and I longed for a warm fire. Instead, I huddled under the blanket, afraid and alone.
From Friday:
The old barn, its doors flung open, stood as a reminder of the life and love I'd given up. Dry leaves crunched under my feet as I cried.
The first was from a photo prompt posted over at the Sunflower Ranch blog. The second was inspired by the weather we're having here today. :)

And now I really have to go. I need to start work on my outline for Cutter's Revenge.

Writing Day!

Yesterday was a good day. Eric and Chelsey had two friends over and they had the cutest little puppy. He was a mix of Miniature Poodle and Yorkie. I want one! :D

But I'd rather have a pet skunk! I've wanted one of those for ages! :)

We did our grocery shopping yesterday afternoon. We fixed French bread pizzas for dinner. Most of them had alfredo sauce and grilled chicken and/ or Canadian bacon. Some had red sauce with pepperoni.

Jeff and I watched three episodes of La Femme Nikita last night.

Today, I plan to work on my outline for Cutter's Revenge. I'll be writing it during Nanowrimo next month, so I want to be fully prepared.

I'm thinking of making the Sons of the Wild Frontier a book of short stories instead of one big novel. Fox and Sawyer's character journal entries are all self contained stories of events that have happened in their lives (at least a lot of them are), so I'm thinking why not write short stories to fill up a book. Lots of people like short stories, after all! :)

My other plan for today is to work on the other novels...try to fix them. I don't think the problem's that bad. I just need to figure out what's missing...if anything's missing...and see how to add it in somehow.

I also need to get my contributions to the goody bags (for the Nanowrimo writing group) ready. Everything's here. I just need to assemble them. :)

Hopefully, today will be a quiet day. I really need to get some work done.

But first, I've got to wash my breakfast dishes.

Have a great day!
