Day One of Our Weekend:

Now that I've finished 10K Day, I've got a couple less thingson my To Do List. I've added some items to it, though. And at least one item is an ongoing one. I'll be concentrating on theitems in bold text today.

To Do List for Friday, August 14, 2009
  1. Finish adding Sawyer's details to Sons of the Wild Frontier: Book 3
  2. Work on project with Patti
  3. Read CP Manual
  4. Brainstorm more ideas for western fantasy
  5. Go to the library
  6. Make a grocery list for tomorrow
  7. Make some digital scrapbook pages
  8. Go to Mim's to get some stickers

I also need to finish reading Blood Bond: Texas Gundown so I can return it.

Now I've got to go get something to eat so I can get started on the day.

Have a good one!

10K Day - Third Check-In

I finally reached 10,187 words!!!! :D

I am so excited! I finally got to write more
in Zane's story and in Fox and Sawyer's story.
I've been itching to write more for a while now.

5,268 - From the Ashes (Zane Greywolf) 4,919 - Sons of the Wild Frontier: Phoenix Rising (Book One) _____

10,187 - Grand Total

Woohoo! I'm happy! :D I've been wanting to write more in those two novels and I sure did it today. I wanted to keep writing, but my wrists are getting tired, so I had to call it a night.

This has been a great 10K Day! I can't wait for the next one. :D

Have a great evening,

Lois

10K Day - Second Check-In

Strange icon, I know, but I really do love the Zane Greywolf story...especially the part I just finished. I've been chomping at the bit to write it!

My word count is now at 5,268. I'm more than half way there! :D

I'm taking a break to update and take a shower and fix dinner, then I'll be back at it after dinner. I'll be working on Sons of the Wild Frontier: Phoenix Rising.

Sawyer just left home and only Fox knows about it at the moment. They've parted ways and won't see each other again until Fox gets mixed up with a gang of outlaws a few years later.

During my break, I need to figure out what to write about before I get to that part. I want to write about what happens with Sawyer and his drinking (I need to show how bad off he is so his turnaround will be remarkable) and I want to write about what happens to bring Fox to the gambling table (he's good at Poker, but he never lets it go too far and he never gambles out of some sense of desperation or greed).

I also need to add the horse rustling scene somewhere in the part I've already written. That was the first scene I ever wrote for this book, but I haven't actually added it to the book yet. I may leave that one out and make another book out of it. With the way it ends, I've left it wide open for just such an occurrence. ;)

I'll be writing the book in third person, after all, instead of having it all in Fox's voice. I want the reader to get a feel for both characters.

So, that's my second update. I'll update again later, hopefully with a "winner's" icon. LOL!

Have a great afternoon!

Lois

10K Day - First Check-In:

I'm currently at 2,384 words. Zane has just made a huge discovery while he and Hawk are searching for Kurt Dawson in a blizzard. It's my favorite part so far. :)

I've still got a ways to go, but I'm taking a break to post updates, then I'm going to get a snack and rest my wrists for a few minutes before continuing.

New Music from Forever!

Forever's new CD posted before the release date! Check it out!

This is my absolute favorite band, especially for writing. I don't know why. I can't explain it. There's just something about their music I really, really love. And the guitar and drums...incredible! :D This is an awesome Mi'kmaq band I just discovered over the past few months. Their music isn't "American Indian" (although they did release an awesome American Indian song in "War Cry"). Their music is just good old rock and roll. :)

I can honestly say that I'll have a new CD soon. I'm definitely going to order it when it's released! :D

Today's Wednesday Writing Sprints

I'm looking forward to getting a start on the day today. I'm a little late this morning because I wanted to eat first (I'm eating now, in fact).

My To Do List for Today:
  1. Post five more entries to Native Heroes
  2. Write at least one more entry for each of the characters for Native Heroes
  3. Finish adding Sawyer's details to the Sons of the Wild Frontier: Crimson Land (Book 3) outline
  4. Work on project with Patti
  5. Read CP Manual (I plan to do this over the weekend, but I want to keep it on here so I don't forget)
  6. Brainstorm more ideas for western fantasy
  7. Work on a novel or two (this will mostly be done tomorrow, but if I should happen to find the time today, I'll work on it some)

So, that's pretty much what my day entails. I've got a couple of meals thawed out in the fridge to fix for Jeff and me. Eric and Chelsey have their own food for the next day or two.

Well, I'd better get to work on that list! I want to get as much done as I can today.

Have a good one!

My New Character Journal:

I've added several old posts and worked a lot on getting the character journal the way I want it. Instead of just showing my entries from the most recent and going backward, I have it open to the "About Native Heroes" page. To the side, you'll see categories for "Books" with the different main characters under them. So you'll see "Lucky Raven" under "Blood Ties." If you look under "Sons of the Wild Frontier," you'll find both Fox and Sawyer Redman. If you want to read entries by one or the other, you'd click on the character's name.

I may change it later, but right now I like it this way.

I've also worked out the outline for Sons of the Wild Frontier: Crimson Land (Book 3). Now I just need to transcribe them onto the computer.

So, as you can see, I've been busy. I'm glad tomorrow and Thursday are writing days. I've been itching to work on some new journal entries and on a novel or two. :)

Have a great evening! :D
